Farm Rules
The following documentation outlines the architectural design guidelines, aesthetic considerations and general 'farm rules' for Greendale Farm. Each Beneficiary of Greendale Trust is encouraged to peruse this documentation as it forms part of the agreement of sale and is contractually binding.
The architecture design guidelines for Greendale Farm have been carefully developed so as to establish a timeless and collective architecture identity throughout the Farm without inhibiting the beneficiary's creative style. The architectural identity is drawn from generic Western Cape “farm style” architecture. The control elements are, amongst other things the articulated building form; the covering, pitch and colour of the roof; exterior finishes and paint colour; the nature of the windows and doors; and the environmental interfaces.
By controlling these architectural elements and the manner in which the farm is used, the full potential of Greendale Farm will be realized by all the new Beneficiaries. The Beneficiary is free to choose his/her own architect (where applicable) subject to the conditions that the architecture guidelines form the basis of the house design and appropriate use.
The building footprint for each 'exclusive use site' will be limited to the area as defined in the Greendale Land Use Budget Table - refer to downloadable PDF document below.
